Dr. Monika Weis-Danhofer

 

Weis-Danhofer is a clinical and health psychologist, psychotherapist, and supervisor based in Vienna. She teaches in the Certificate in Advanced Studies in Music Physiology (CAS MP) and has been a long-standing collaborator at the Centre of Music Physiology.

 

Dr. Weis-Danhofer studied psychology, pedagogy, German studies, and theology in Innsbruck and Freiburg im Breisgau (also flute performance) and earned her doctorate in psychology and pedagogy in 1989.

With extensive experience as a clinical psychologist (e.g., in Göllersdorf Prison and the MS Society Vienna), she co-founded the Centre for Integrative Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics (ZIPP). Her therapeutic background includes training in guided imagery (KIP), autogenic therapy, hypnosis, and trauma therapy, complemented by approaches such as Imago couples therapy, systemic constellations, and bodywork.

From 2000 to 2023, she has taught courses on concentration practice, psychology, and pedagogy at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Her teaching integrates relaxation techniques, mental imagery, and body-oriented methods (bioenergetics, kinesiology, shiatsu) to enhance self-awareness, mental focus, and expressive performance.
