Personal focus and teaching goals

Qigong is about balancing yin and yang and the free flow of energy in the body.

The nature of the exercises is very diverse: swinging and stretching exercises get the energy (the Qi) in the body moving.

Letting go exercises promote relaxation and help release blockages.

The goal is to achieve good grounding (whether standing or sitting) based on the principle of “heavy at the bottom, light at the top.” Exercise sequences, such as the “Baduan Jin” (also known as the 8 brocades), address different areas of the body, work internally on the energy channels (meridians), and have an invigorating yet calming and centering effect.

The combination of movement, breathing, and inner mindfulness helps calm the mind, providing mental strength and balance.

An important fundamental principle is “energy flows where attention goes”—we learn to perceive our body, follow movement sequences, and consciously direct our “Qi.”

All of these aspects strengthen our life force, help reduce tension, and allow us to center ourselves and connect with our core.
