ERASMUS+ INTERNATIONAL STAFF MOBILITY FOR TEACHING & TRAINING (OUTGOING)

 

Mdw teaching staff have the opportunity to apply for and engage in 5-day Erasmus+ Staff Mobility International for Teaching Assignments. Activities that combine teaching and further training are likewise possible.

APPLICATION

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Any mobility activity at partner universities outside of Europe entails a stay encompassing 5 consecutive days of teaching and/or further training.
  • A minimum of 8 hours of teaching and/or further training activities must engaged in.
  • A maximum of 2 additional days for travel can be approved.
  • The activity must be carried out in accordance with Erasmus+ guidelines.
  • It is possible to engage in multiple instances of teaching mobility within a single academic year. Please note that each such activity must be applied for separately via Mobility Online.
  • International teaching mobility at partner universities outside of Europe need not necessarily be bilateral in nature. Conduct as an exchange is, however, recommended.
  • According to the Erasmus+ programme guidelines, it is possible to fund only those mobilities that are conducted on the basis of an inter-institutional agreement between the partner institutions.

 

APPLICATION PROCESS

 

  • The Erasmus+ International Teaching Staff Mobility application process consists of multiple levels and requires planning over an extended timeframe.
  • Interest is announced by the applyingteacher via Mobility Online using an online application form.
  • Approval process: following internal endorsement by the appropriate department head and approval by vice rector Johannes Meissl, the desired partner institution is informed of the application. If interest in cooperating exists on both sides, an mdw summary application in the context of Erasmus+ KA171 is submitted to the National Agency by the team of the Office for International Programme Mobilities.
  • Decision and nomination: a final decision determining whether Erasmus+ funds will be available cannot be expected before July of the following year.

 

SUBMISSIONS

 

Online Application: applications to conduct the proposed activity must be submitted via Mobility Online

Deadline: Applications may be submitted until 30.11.2024 (for mobilities in fall 2025; Mobilities 2023/24 and 2024/25 only possible to a limited extent after consultation with International Office)

PROCEDURE

 

  • Obtain preliminary information on partner institutions from your department, from colleagues in your field, and/or from your department head(s), and learn about the necessary formalities from the Erasmus+ Teaching Mobility Team at the Office for International Programme Mobilities. You can also get in touch with colleagues from your field at your desired destination.
  • Discuss your mobility project with your department head(s) and select your desired host institution.
  • Apply online using the Mobility Online application tool.
  • Approval process: field-specific (department), internal (mdw vice rector), and external (host institution).
  • Funding decision: The mdw submits an annual Erasmus+ summary application containing proposed activities involving international mobility. The decision on whether to grant financial resources is made by the National Agency.
  • As soon as Erasmus+ funding has been approved: accept your place.
  • Take care of Erasmus+ documents (Mobility Agreement, Grant Agreement, internal travel allowance application [Antrag auf Reisekostenzuschuss – RKZ], and leave application) using Mobility Online.
  • Following RKZ approval: book your travel and accommodations at your destination and finalise organisational and content-related arrangements with your contacts at the host institution.
  • Conduct and document your mobility visit.
  • Have your Confirmation of Stay issued at/by the host institution. 
  • Reimbursement of travel expenses: upload your receipts to Mobility Online and either deliver the originals personally or send them via internal mail to the “Abteilung für Dienstreisen” at the Department of Human Resources (Personalabteilung).

  • Fill out the EU Survey using the EU database associated with the programme. (You will receive an automatic e-mail requesting that you do this.)
  • If possible: author a blog post for the mdw’s International Blog in order to make your experiences accessible to a broader audience (contact Isabella Gaisbauer at the Office of the Vice Rector of International Affairs and Art for access and/or assistance).
