What else might Lili Boulanger have created had she not died so young? Her sister Nadia, also a composer, always emphasized that Lili was the more talented of the two. We will never know, but we can place some of her works in the context of their time and build a bridge to the present. The evening begins with an early piano trio by Saint-Saëns, a welcome guest of the Boulanger family in Paris. This is followed by works for solo piano and chamber music by Lili Boulanger, which reveal her very own style. The evening concludes with a new composition by mdw student Reina Yoshioka, which references Lili Boulanger in her work.
A cooperation with the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Vienna.
