The concert "Strömungen" (Currents) is inspired by the idea of putting the spotlight on the rich and often little-known classical music tradition of the former Yugoslavian states. Young artists with a migrant background present solo and song duo works that reflect the diversity and cultural heritage of the region.
Vienna, as a multicultural metropolis with a large ex-Yugoslavian community, offers the ideal setting to build bridges between cultures, make the diaspora visible and promote intercultural dialog. This concert invites the audience to discover the musical treasures of the region and to celebrate cultural diversity.

The Artist’s Journey
"On February 21, 2025, we gathered at the Bechstein Center Vienna to celebrate the musical diversity of the former Yugoslavia region. With a varied program—including works by Pejačević, Tajčević, Bajić, Vrebalov, and many others—we joined forces with three outstanding artists (Ana Bursać, Dušan Sretović, and Bernarda Klinar) to showcase our cultural roots.
The evening was more than just a concert: it was a sign of how important the migrant community is to Vienna's cultural life – and how strong its contribution to the diversity of this city is. With the message “Home is where the (he)art is,” we showed together how closely art and belonging are connected.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who was there and made this evening so special with their presence and energy!"
