Workshop und Konzert Hojsak & Novosel

In their musical project Hojsak & Novosel, Tihomir Hojsak (double bass) and Filip Novosel (tambura – Croatian traditional instrument) are merging not only two string instruments from different traditions but also various genres including classical, contemporary jazz on the one side and Croatian „ethno“ or traditional music on the other side. Creating a specific and a unique style of their own, their work is exemplarily for bringing together contemporary forms of Jazz and popular music with traditional music. The workshop thus addresses students from popular music and jazz as well as students from traditional music and ethnomusicology. The workshop will specifically address traditional music from Slavonija/Croatia, jazz and possibilities of improvisation. Students from all study programs and of instruments are welcome. The workshop is also open for external participants.

Hojsak & Novosel are among the most influental contemporary music projects in Croatia. Framed as a new Croatian cultural band, they collaborated with renowned Croatian artists, like the Zagreb Philharmonic or Gibonni and internationally acclaimed musicians such as Theodosii Spassov, Vlatko Stefanovski, Matija Dedic. Hojsak&Novosel are performing internationally and are currently promoting their fourth album Traditional Songbook.

Konzert am Abend um 19.00 Uhr im Fanny Hensel-Saal.
