Salah Ammo is a celebrated artist who holds a Master of Arts in Ethnomusicology from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW), building on his 2004 graduation from the Higher Institute of Music in Damascus. A versatile Bouzouk player, composer, and singer, he has been a driving force in bridging musical cultures. Since moving to Vienna in 2013, he quickly became a fixture in the Austrian scene. His album ASSI (2014) was nominated for the prestigious "Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik," and he was a finalist in the Austrian World Music Award. Known for his experimental approach blending World, Classical, and Jazz music, Salah has collaborated with major groups like the Wiener Symphoniker. The Austrian Music Export recognized his impact, calling him "one of the most celebrated musicians in the Austrian world music scene.
