Axel Petri-Preis and mdw alumna Heidemarie Dude received theAVISO MEDIAL AWARD for music education publications 2018/19. heir publication "Daigger, Petri-Preis (2019): Arvo Pärt: Tabula rasa" was awarded.

Axel Petri-Preis is since October 2017 research associate at the Department of Music Education Research, Music Didactics and Elementary Music Education and works on a dissertation on musicians as music mediators.

Jan Jiracek von Arnim

Department of Piano

Jan Jiracek von Arnim has been namedProfessor of the Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Chinese National Schools of Music and China Conservatory of Music by President of the China Conservatory of Music and Chairman of the Global Music Education League, Prof. Wang Liguang.

Jiracek von Arnim has been a professor at the Department of Piano at the mdw since 2001.

Antonio Salieri Department of Vocal Studies and Vocal Research in Music Education

Martina Steffl-Holzbauer received the Silver Medal of Honour of Lower Austria, for her services as a singer and voice teacher, awarded by governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner.

Martina Steffl-Holzbauer has taught at mdw's Antonio Salieri Department of Vocal Studies and Vocal Research in Music Education since 2004.
