CC-ECME PROJEKT
CC-ECME ist ein Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership Projekt im Hochschulbereich (2025–2028, EUR 400.000), das die frühkindliche musikalische Bildung (Early Childhood Music Education – ECME) als zentralen Hebel für chancengerechten Zugang zu musikalischer Bildung und kultureller Teilhabe versteht. Es basiert auf der Überzeugung, dass jedes Kind – unabhängig von sozioökonomischem oder kulturellem Hintergrund oder geografischer Lage – Zugang zu hochwertiger musikalischer Bildung haben sollte. Dies fördert kulturelles Verständnis und sozialen Zusammenhalt und legt das Fundament für lebenslange persönliche & künstlerische Entwicklung.
Musik- und Kunstschulen, die tief in ihren lokalen Gemeinschaften verankert sind, befinden sich in einer einzigartigen Position, als transformative Akteure zu wirken. In den vielfältigen regionalen Kontexten, in denen sie tätig sind, bieten sie ECME oft direkt an und/oder arbeiten mit Kindergärten, Volksschulen oder Gemeindezentren zusammen. Diese Kooperationen und Strukturen bilden eine wertvolle Grundlage für den Ausbau der Zugänglichkeit. Sie sind jedoch oft fragmentiert und erhalten nicht die systematische Unterstützung und Skalierung, die für eine nachhaltige Wirkung erforderlich wären. Ziel des Projekts ist es daher, diese Ansätze zu systematisieren, zu stärken und weiterzuentwickeln – um Musik- und Kunstschulen zu befähigen, als Motoren für langfristigen und systemischen Wandel zu wirken.
Das Projekt reagiert auf aktuelle Herausforderungen wie die ungleiche Verteilung von ECME-Angeboten in Europa, den Mangel an qualifizierten Lehrenden und systemische Barrieren für sektorübergreifende Zusammenarbeit. Ziel ist es, gerechte Rahmenbedingungen und inklusive Pädagogik in der frühen Kindheit zu fördern, die Ausbildung von Lehrenden zu professionalisieren und starke Partnerschaften zwischen Musik-/Kunstschulen und frühkindlichen Bildungseinrichtungen aufzubauen. Zu den zentralen Ergebnissen gehören ein europäischer ECME-Report, ein modulares Weiterbildungsmodell, evidenzbasierte Empfehlungen und Advocacy-Tools, die die nachhaltige Verankerung von ECME in Praxis und Politik unterstützen.
CC ECME wird von der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien (Österreich) koordiniert und in Zusammenarbeit mit der Universität Luxemburg (Luxemburg), der Universität Nikosia (Zypern), der Universität der Künste Helsinki (Finnland), der Hochschule für Musik Saar (Deutschland) sowie der Europäischen Musikschulunion (EMU) durchgeführt.

CC-ECME PROJECT
CC-ECME is an Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership Project in Higher Education (2025–2028, EUR 400,000) that promotes Early Childhood Music Education (ECME) as a key driver of equitable access to music education and cultural participation. It is rooted in the conviction that every child—regardless of socioeconomic or cultural background or geographic location—should have access to high-quality ECME. Music and art education fosters cultural understanding, and social cohesion, laying the foundation for lifelong artistic and personal development.
Music and art schools, deeply embedded in local communities, are uniquely positioned to act as transformative agents. Operating across diverse regional contexts, they often offer ECME directly and/or engage in partnerships with pre-primary and primary schools or community centers to provide ECME. These collaborations offer a valuable foundation to expand access, yet they remain fragmented and often lack the systematic support and scale needed for long-term impact. The project aims to systematize, strengthen, and scale these efforts—empowering music and art schools to become engines of systemic and sustainable change.
The project responds to current challenges such as the unequal distribution of ECME offerings in Europe, the shortage of qualified teachers, and systemic barriers to cross-sector collaboration. The aim is to promote equitable conditions and inclusive pedagogy in early childhood, professionalize teacher training, and build strong partnerships between music and art schools and early childhood education institutions. Key outcomes include a European ECME report, a modular capacity building seminar, evidence-based recommendations, and an advocacy kit that supports sustainable and inclusive ECME in practice and policy.
CC ECME is coordinated by the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (Austria) and carried out in collaboration with the University of Luxembourg (Luxembourg), the University of Nicosia (Cyprus), the University of the Arts Helsinki (Finland), the College of Music Saar (Germany), and the European Music School Union (EMU).
