In seiner Arbeit als Community Artist, Kurator und Musikvermittler stehen kulturelle Teilhabe und Vielfalt im Mittelpunkt. Sein Ziel ist es, ein Umfeld zu schaffen, in dem Menschen unterschiedlicher Herkunft, Sozialisierung, Bildung, sexueller Orientierung und Lebensphasen in persönlichen und künstlerischen Austausch treten und die vielfältigen Lebensrealitäten gegenseitig wahrgenommen und wertgeschätzt werden.
Zu seinen Projekten gehören unter anderem die Käfigkonzerte und die Grätzl Töne – zwei Vorzeigeprojekte im Bereich Community Music. Als Musik-Kurator und Spielstättenleiter war er unter anderem für das WienLiebe-Festival und den Kultursommer Wien tätig. Als Community Music Facilitator begleitet er Projekte des Fonds Soziales Wien sowie des Vereins Integration Wien. Durch seine vielseitigen Tätigkeiten im Kulturbereich hat sich Schlögl ein weitreichendes Netzwerk aufgebaut. Die Bandbreite seiner Projekt- und Kooperationspartner reicht von renommierten Institutionen wie den Wiener Symphonikern bis hin zu NGOs und Kulturvereinen aus den Grätzln.
Schlögl ist als Senior Artist für Community Engagement an der mdw – Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien im Fachbereich 'Musik im Dialog' tätig. Ziel ist es, Studierende mit unterschiedlichen gesellschaftlichen Gruppen in Kontakt zu bringen und gemeinsam 'Proberäume der Demokratie' zu schaffen – Orte, an denen Musik als Mittel für Dialog, Teilhabe und soziale Aushandlung erfahrbar wird.
In Martin Schlögl's work as a community artist, curator, and music educator, cultural participation and diversity are at the center. His aim is to create environments in which people from different backgrounds, socializations, educational levels, sexual orientations, and stages of life can engage in personal and artistic exchange, fostering mutual awareness and appreciation of diverse lived realities.
Among his key projects are 'Käfigkonzerte' and 'Grätzl Töne' – two flagship initiatives in the field of community music. As a music curator and venue director, he has worked for the 'WienLiebe Festival' and the 'Kultursommer Wien'. As a community music facilitator, he supports projects by Fonds Soziales Wien and the organization 'Integration Wien'. Through his multifaceted activities in the cultural sector, Schlögl has built an extensive network. His range of project and cooperation partners extends from prestigious institutions such as the Vienna Symphony Orchestra to NGOs and neighbourhood-based cultural associations.
Schlögl works as a Senior Artist for Community Engagement at the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, within the department of 'Music in Dialogue'. The goal is to bring students into contact with diverse social groups and to collaboratively create 'laboratories of democracy' – spaces where music becomes a tool for dialogue, participation, and social negotiation.
