Rahil Sidiropoulos

Rahil Sidiropoulos ist in Thessaloniki, Griechenland, geboren und absolvierte das Studium der Musikwissenschaft und Musikpädagogik an der Aristoteles Universität Thessaloniki. Ihre Masterarbeit trägt den Titel 'Das Musiktheater für Kinder und die Aufführungen der Oper von Thessaloniki und anderer Träger'. Parallel studierte sie am Konservatorium Mousiko Kollegio Thessaloniki Harmonielehre und Kontrapunkt. 2009 kam sie nach Wien und studierte an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien Musikerziehung und Instrumentalmusikerziehung mit den Hauptfächern Gesang (bei Prof. Lydia Vierlinger) und Klavier (bei Prof. Inci Häusler-Altinok). Sie verfasste eine Diplomarbeit zum Thema 'Medea. Das Frauenbild auf der Opernbühne bei Mikis Theodorakis'.
Als Chor- und Ensemblesängerin war sie aktives Mitglied im Chor des Musikgymnasiums Thessaloniki und im Thessaloniki Chor. In Wien war sie Mitglied des Wiener Kammerchors, des Concentus Vocalis und Vokalensembles Sakura Wien. Zu ihrer Bühnenerfahrung zählen zahlreiche Konzerte, Chorwettbewerbe, CD-Aufnahmen und Opernaufführungen. Als Solistin hat sie bei mehreren Konzerten und Universitätsprojekten mitgewirkt.
Von 2010 bis 2012 unterrichtete Rahil Sidiropoulos an der Neuen Musikmittelschule Alsegger Straße Musikerziehung, Ensemble und Klavier. Seit 2013 unterrichtet sie an der WMS/AHS Contiweg . Zu ihren Arbeitsschwerpunkten gehören Singen und instrumentales Musizieren mit Schulklassen, praxisorientierte Vermittlung von Theorie, Projektarbeit (u.a. Gestaltung von Mini-Musicals, exil.arte-Projekt) und Musikvermittlung.

Rahil Sidiropoulos was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, and completed her studies in Musicology and Music Education at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her master’s thesis is titled 'Musical Theater for Children and the Performances of the Thessaloniki Opera and Other Institutions.' At the same time, she studied Harmony and Counterpoint at the Music College Conservatory of Thessaloniki.
In 2009 she moved to Vienna, where she studied Music Education and Instrumental Music Education at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, with majors in Voice (Prof. Lydia Vierlinger) and Piano (with Prof. Inci Häusler-Altinok). She wrote her thesis on the topic 'Medea. The Image of Women on the Opera Stage in Mikis Theodorakis’s Works.'
As a choir and ensemble singer, she was an active member of the choir of the Music High School of Thessaloniki and of the Thessaloniki Choir. In Vienna she was a member of the Vienna Chamber Choir, Concentus Vocalis, and the vocal ensemble Sakura Wien. Her stage experience includes numerous concerts, choir competitions, CD recordings, and opera productions. As a soloist she has participated in several concerts and university projects.
From 2010 to 2012 Rahil Sidiropoulos taught Music Education, Ensemble, and Piano at the NMS Alsegger Straße. Since 2013 she has been teaching at the school WMS/AHS Contiweg. Her main areas of focus include singing and instrumental music with school classes, practical approaches to teaching theory, project work (i.a. creating mini-musicals, exil.arte project), and music mediation.
