Agnes Haider studierte Instrumentalpädagogik Klavier bei Christiane Karajeva mit Schwerpunkt Elementare Musikpädagogik sowie Musikerziehung und Geschichte mit Sozialkunde an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien und an der Universität Wien.
Ergänzend absolvierte sie den Universitätslehrgang 'Coaching, Organisations- und Personalentwicklung' an der Sigmund Freud Privatuniversität Wien sowie bei der ARGE Bildungsmanagement und schloss diesen als akademischer Coach, Organisationsberaterin und Personalentwicklerin ab. Sie verfügt über ein 'Train the Trainer'-Zertifikat und absolvierte zahlreiche Fort- und Weiterbildungen, unter anderem in Rhythmik, Tanz- und Bewegungslehre bei Amos Hetz, in der Franklin-Methode, in Gruppendynamik sowie in der Österreichischen Gebärdensprache.
Als Pianistin und Kontrabassistin ist sie an vielfältigen Projekten und Inszenierungen beteiligt – sowohl mit klassischem Repertoire als auch in freier Improvisation. Mit ihrem Duo an.tasten ist Agnes Haider auf zahlreichen Bühnen zu erleben – insbesondere in der Formation an.tasten&friends, bei der Menschen mit Behinderungen aktiv in die Aufführungen eingebunden werden und so inklusive Konzertformate entstehen. 2004 gründete sie die KinderMusikGruppe, einen Ort, an dem Kinder im Alter von 0 bis 8 Jahren gemeinsam mit ihren Eltern Musik erleben. 2025 eröffnete sie Die Resonanz, ein Zentrum für Musik im 6. Wiener Gemeindebezirk. Darüber hinaus ist sie in der Erwachsenenbildung tätig.
Seit 2015 hat sie einen Lehrauftrag am Institut für musikpädagogische Forschung, Musikdidaktik und elementares Musizieren an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. Ihre Arbeitsschwerpunkte liegen im elementaren Musizieren in altersheterogenen Gruppen – von Eltern-Kind-Gruppen (0–3 Jahre) über Basisgruppen (4–6 Jahre) bis hin zu musikpädagogischen Settings mit dem Klavier als Zentrum für Sechsjährige und Erwachsene. Ein weiterer Fokus liegt auf der Improvisation am Klavier für EMP-Studierende. Seit 2024 unterrichtet sie Lehrpraxis des Unterrichts am Klavier für Anfänger:innen am Institut Ludwig van Beethoven.
Für Agnes Haider bedeutet Improvisation ein selbstbestimmtes und schöpferisches Erfinden auf dem Instrument – ein Musizieren ohne Noten, im Hier und Jetzt, das sich auf die impulsive Kraft einlässt, die in jedem Menschen wohnt.
Agnes Haider studied Instrumental Pedagogy with a focus on Piano under Christiane Karajeva, specializing in Elementary Music Education. She also completed studies in Music Education and History with Civics at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and the University of Vienna.
In addition, she completed the university program 'Coaching, Organizational and Human Resources Development' at the Sigmund Freud Private University Vienna and the ARGE Bildungsmanagement, graduating as an academic coach, organizational consultant, and HR developer. She holds a 'Train-the-Trainer' certificate and has undertaken numerous further trainings in rhythmics, dance and movement pedagogy (including with Amos Hetz), the Franklin Method, group dynamics, and Austrian Sign Language.
As a pianist, she takes part in a variety of projects and productions, performing both classical repertoire and free improvisation. With her duo an.tasten, Agnes Haider performs on many stages— particularly with the formation an.tasten&friends, where people with disabilities are actively included on stage, creating inclusive concert experiences. In 2004, she founded KinderMusikGruppe, a space where children aged 0 to 8 can experience music together with their parents. In 2025, she opened Die Resonanz, a center for music located in Vienna’s 6th district. She is also active in adult education.
Since 2015, she has held a teaching position at the Institute for Music Pedagogical Research, Music Didactics, and Elementary Music-Making at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Her main areas of focus include elementary music-making in groups of various ages—ranging from parent-child groups (ages 0–3), and basic groups (ages 4–6), to piano-centered sessions for six-yearolds and adults. Another key area is piano improvisation for students of Elementary Music Education. Since 2024, she has been teaching "Piano Teaching Practice 01 for Beginners" at the Ludwig van Beethoven Institute.
For Agnes Haider, improvisation is a self-directed and creative process of invention on the instrument—making music without written scores, in the here and now, guided by the inner impulse that resides in everyone.
