The mission statement of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna is “Innovation inspired by tradition”.
The combination of innovation and tradition is a key feature of this university, its corporate identity, and its image, and stems from an awareness of the traditions specific to Vienna.
Walking the tightrope between dynamic tradition and responsible innovation, we endeavour to broaden the perception of art and achieve diversity in art and research.
It is only through a receptiveness to this diversity that we will be able to transform and expand the field in which our teachers and future graduates of the university are active.
Im Rahmen der Begabtenförderung der mdw wurde von 28. Juli bis 8. August 2010 eine erfolgreiche Konzertreise des Kammerensembles „Die Jungen Wiener Solisten“ nach Japan und China anlässlich der Teilnahme am ISME Weltkongress 2010 in Beijing und an der Expo 2010 in Shanghai unternommen. Am Konzertplan standen unter anderem Auftritte in Shioya, Mibu, Beijing, Shanghai und an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien.
