ERASMUS+ INTERNATIONAL TEACHING & TRAINING STAFF MOBILITY (OUTGOING)
Mdw teaching staff have the opportunity to apply for and engage in 5-day Erasmus+ Staff Mobility International for Teaching Assignments. Activities that combine teaching and further training are possible as well.
REQUIREMENTS

5 consecutive days of teaching/training
-
8 hours of teaching (4h hours in case of a combined mobility with teaching & training)
-
2 additional travel days possible
-
processing according to Erasmus+ guidelines & via Mobility Online (only possible with Inter-Institutional Agreement)

notification to partner institution about application

collective application under Erasmus+ KA171

decision and nomination not until August of the following year

applications may be submitted between October 1, 2026 and November 28, 2026 (for mobilities starting in fall 2027)
10-STEP GUIDE

gathering information about partner universities from the International Office of the mdw & contacting colleagues at the partner university

discussion of the mobility project with the head of the respective department (An Erasmus staff mobility is considered a business trip, which means the obligation to fulfill teaching duties is waived. However, any mobility must be coordinated in advance with the head of the department.)

online application via Mobility Online

internal approval process & decision on financing by the National Agency

completion of Erasmus+ documents in Mobility Online
-
booking of travel & accommodation after approval of travel request ("Dienstreiseantrag")
-
implementation & documentation of the mobility

confirmation of the mobility by the host institution

refund of travel expenses by submitting receipts
-
completion of the EU Survey
Mandatory Insurance
For business trips outside the EU, travel insurance with the following coverage is mandatory:
-
health and accident insurance (including full or partial incapacity for work)
-
repatriation insurance
Travel insurance costs are reimbursed by the mdw.
Please note: If the insurance is provided through a credit card, please make sure to check in advance whether business trips are actually covered (unfortunately, this is often not the case!).
