Nadia Thaler (geb. 1999) studierte Musikwissenschaften (Uni Wien) sowie Wirtschafts- und Sozialwissenschaften (WU Wien), momentan befindet sie sich im Masterstudium Music in Society. Seit Februar 2026 ist sie als Studienassistentin am IMP im Fachbereich Musik im Dialog (Musikvermittlung/Community Music) tätig. Besonders interessiert sie sich für intersektionale und interdisziplinäre Zusammenhänge innerhalb verschiedener musikalischer, performativer, partizipativer und soziokultureller Praktiken sowie damit in Verbindung stehende (strukturelle) Machtdynamiken.
Nadia ist seit ihrer Jugend künstlerisch aktiv. Über viele Jahre erhielt sie im Rahmen ihrer schulischen Ausbildung in Südtirol Gesangs- und Gitarrenunterricht. Bereits früh wirkte sie an vielseitigen musikalisch-performativen Projekten mit, die ihre Leidenschaft für kreativen Ausdruck und gemeinschaftliches Musizieren prägten. Heute setzt sie diese Vielfalt in unterschiedlichen Kontexten fort – sowohl organisatorisch als auch künstlerisch – und engagiert sich in verschiedenen kollektiven künstlerisch-musikalischen Projekten, sowie individuell als Singer-Songwriterin. In der Musik verbindet sich für sie die Verarbeitung von Emotionen und Erlebnissen sowie dem Gestalten gemeinschaftlicher Erfahrungsräume.
Nadia Thaler (born 1999) studied musicology (University of Vienna) and economics and social sciences (Vienna University of Economics and Business), and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Music in Society. Since February 2026, she has been working as a student assistant at the IMP in the department Music in Dialogue (music mediation/community music). Her main interests lie in intersectional and interdisciplinary connections within diverse musical, performative, participatory, and sociocultural practices, as well as the (structural) power dynamics related to them.
Nadia has been artistically active since her youth. During her school years in South Tyrol, she received training in singing and guitar over many years. From an early age, she took part in a variety of musical and performative projects that shaped her passion for creative expression and collaborative music-making. Today, she continues this diversity of practice in different contexts—both organizationally and artistically—and is involved in various collective artistic-musical projects as well as working individually as a singer-songwriter. For her, music is a space where personal emotions and experiences are processed while shared experiences are created.
