In this interdisciplinary, experiential workshop we will briefly revisit transformative concepts developed in early USA feminist writings that challenged ingrained patriarchal understandings of what constituted "wisdom," and "art." We will explore the ways in which these revolutionary feminist perspectives led to the re-discovery of productions by women that had previously been denigrated as "trivial," as well as an explosion of creativity by women in multiple forms of art.  The relevance of these early feminist understandings are increasingly important at a moment in time when "differences" from the "white male heterosexual Christian able-bodied norms" are once at risk of being erased and the lives of those who embody these differences are endangered.
