Opening hours during the Christmas holidays

Holiday opening hours apply from 19 December 2025 to 6 January 2026 inclusive. All locations will be closed from 24 December 2025 to 4 January 2026.

The mdw will return to its regular opening hours on 7 January 2026.

AIRE 2026: Call for Submissions now open!

Teachers, supervisors and students can submit contributions for AIRE 2026 until 19 January 2026.

The second annual IN.TUNE event will focus on  research education and supervision in master’s and doctoral programmes.

Join us at the mdw pop-up Advent calendar!

24 days of music, 24 encounters, a city full of surprises: we are transforming Vienna into a stage – with a new door opening every day in a different district of Vienna.

Pop-up concerts by young artists in unconventional locations – freely accessible to all Viennese residents.

This turns the Advent season into a cultural gift that connects and touches people.

The mdw offers various support and counselling services for students and mdw members with study-specific difficulties or personal conflict situations and provides information about barrier-free studying and teaching. Confidential, anonymous & free of charge!

In the academic year 2025/26 Sebastian Müller, Michael Kitzberger, Julia Hagen, Katharina Treutler, Wilhelm Spuller, Francesco Angelico, Oscar Bianchi, Jorge Sánchez-Chiong,  Svetlana Makarova, Marie Christine Köberlein and Mischa Janisch assumed their positions at the mdw.
