If you would like to publish with mdwPress, please first contact the coordination team and, if necessary, schedule a consultation.
The official publication request is then based on the application form, which you can fill out online or receive from us as a Word file.
Submission Guidelines
At the time of submission, at least one author (for independent works) or one editor (for editorial projects) must be a member of the mdw. Proposals may be submitted for all academic publication formats, including journals, book series, and innovative web publications.
The publication proposal to be submitted should present the project as precisely as possible and clarify its significance for the academic community and the broader public. In addition, it should be described in detail which method of quality assurance the applicants propose to the mdwPress Academic Board.
Doctoral dissertations completed at mdw and awarded as outstanding may also be submitted as book projects. The proposal must be accompanied by both the reviews from the examination process and the book manuscript. A prerequisite for publication with mdwPress is that the dissertation version of the manuscript be revised and adapted into a monograph. A peer review is also mandatory in this case.
Online SubmissionAcceptance Procedure
The mdwPress Academic Board meets at least three times a year to discuss and decide on submissions. Submissions can only be considered if they are received at least one month before the respective meeting of the Board (dates will be announced). mdwPress will notify applicants of the Board’s decision within two weeks of the meeting.
