mdwPress offers comprehensive publishing services for Open Access publications (PDF and HTML). For book publications, the production of a print edition is also available as an option.
Our services include
- personal support throughout the entire publication project,
- the organization of quality assurance processes,
- layout and typesetting,
- production of various publication formats, as well as
- distribution and marketing.
As a publishing house directly affiliated with mdw, we offer a personal exchange and can thus respond specifically to the concerns, individual needs, and wishes of authors and editors.
As an active member of the open access community and the international movement for non-commercial publishing services, mdwPress has an excellent network and is continuously expanding its range of services.
To meet the demand for printed book editions, we collaborate with transcript publishing, which, in addition to an excellent distribution network in German-speaking countries, also facilitates international distribution for English-language publications.
Publication Costs
Digital Only
For digital-only publications, no fees are charged to our authors and editors. This applies to both books and journals.
Additional costs such as copy editing, translations, or license fees for digital-only books can usually be covered by the mdw.
Additional Print Version
For book publications, we offer the option of an additional print publication through our partnership with transcript. This option includes costs that can currently be covered by the mdw to the extent of an average book publication. This funding is explicitly intended to support early-career researchers. Established researchers with appropriate funding for their posts are encouraged to cover these costs from their own resources wherever possible.
Additional expenses such as copy editing, translations, or license fees cannot usually be covered under this option.
