Imag|e|ination
The pilot project “Imag|e|ination: An Art-Based Exploration of the Life Experiences of Caregivers of People with Dementia Through Musical Imagination and Creative Expression” examines the experiences of family and professional caregivers in caring for people with dementia. Various creative and body-oriented interventions will be employed, such as:
- Resource-Oriented Musical Imagination (RoMI): A method in which listening to music is specifically used to stimulate inner images (imaginations) and activate personal resources
- Vibrotactile stimulation: The use of deep, perceptible sound vibrations to induce physical relaxation and trigger perceptual processes
- Creative expression: The visualization of inner processes through drawing, free music improvisation, and creative writing.
The aim of the study is to explore how artistic and sensory processes can contribute to meaning-making and reflection in everyday nursing practice. The study aims to demonstrate how these methods can help make the embodied (somatic) and affective (emotional) dimensions of caregiving tangible and articulable.
