mdwPress is the Diamond Open Access academic publisher of the mdw – university of music and performing arts vienna. It stands for academic independence and the freedom of scholarship.

mdwPress pursues no commercial goals and is guided by the conviction that the results of publicly funded research must also be freely accessible and usable by the public. Through mdwPress, the mdw increases the visibility and dissemination of scholarly and artistic-scholarly publications from the mdw.
The publisher’s academic independence is ensured by an academic board, whose regularly rotating mdw internal and external members are distinguished by their subject-matter expertise and represent the disciplinary diversity of mdw as balanced as possible.
