Students in Focus: Elli Deutsch

My name is Elli Deutsch. I study in the Music and Movement Education / Rhythmics programme with a specialisation in movement and contemporary dance.

The Footprint of the Arts

This year’s Venice Biennale showed impressively to just what extent climate change has become a topic and starting point of works by numerous artists from all over the world. Quite a few sculptures, installations, and video works made reference to species extinction, marine pollution, and the exploitation of natural resources. Our ecosystem is being pushed over the edge, with horrific consequences that the arts—just like other fields—can no longer ignore.

In Fear of Art Robots

Artificial intelligence, or AI for short, has become an oft-heard buzzword in the media and in the arts—in equal measures a beacon of medical hope and an artistic nightmare.

Students in Focus: Wanja Rosenthal

I am Wanja Rosenthal. At the mdw, I’ve been studying Music Education for Voice and Instruments – Guitar (Popular Music) since the autumn of 2015 (in the MA programme since 2020).

Music Mediation

The Rudolfinum in Prague can boast what is probably one of Europe’s most beautiful concert halls. So whenever I plan a visit to the “Golden City”, I head to the legendary Dvořák Hall—where the Czech Philharmonic regularly performs—to catch an evening concert.
