Global Conservatoire

The Global Conservatoire is a cooperation of the mdw with four renowned music conservatories in London, Amsterdam Copenhagen and New York City.

The Global Conservatoire is a digital learning environment, or “global classroom”, presented by Manhattan School of Music, the Royal College of Music (London), the Royal Danish Academy of Music, the Amsterdam University of the Arts and the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.

The program brings faculty and students from each of the five institutional partners into asynchronous online classrooms, cultivating an international exchange of ideas and allowing students from five conservatories in three different time zones to work at their own pace, completing courses around busy rehearsal and practice schedules.

Global Conservatoire students, each enrolled at their home university, gain new perspectives on different areas of study and learn in a globally connected way. The online curriculum builds on the expertise of faculty at partner institutions and provides access to subject areas that are complementary to their own university's curricula. In addition to asynchronous class scheduling designed to allow maximum flexibility in student and faculty schedules, each course will include synchronous online sessions to build and deepen faculty-student exchanges.

Information on the course schedule and registration can be found here.
