Practicum Early Music

Born in 1954 in Ossiach / Carinthia. Harpsichordist, organist, ensemble director and conductor, scientific activity. Studies at the former Musikhochschule Vienna concert with specialized diplomas from organ and harpsichord, besides German and history at the University (Mag.phil. 1979).

Since 1979-80 teaching at the formerly named Academy of Music, now University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna (historical performance practice, harpsichord, basso continuo, structural analysis, cultural history). 1986-89 Head of organ and harpsichord class at the Carinthian State Conservatory, 1993, 95 and 97 visiting professor of Historical Performance Practice in Graz. Since 2004, first

Chair of Historical musical practice in Austria at the Vienna Music University. Guest courses and workshops, amongst others in Italy and Japan. Scientific activity, editions, essays and reviews. Concerts and CD productions as a soloist, chamber musician, ensemble director and accompanist throughout Europe, Scandinavia, North Africa and Japan. Cooperation with renowned soloists and in various ensembles for early and contemporary music (Vienna Academy, Ensemble 20th century, etc.). Founder and director of the ensemble "Studio da camera" with concerts of old (on period instruments) and new music at renowned festivals at home and abroad.
