Born and raised in a family of musicians in Leipzig; 1976-1984 Vocal studies at the University of Music "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig with KS Prof. Christa Nowak and KS Prof. Sigrid Kehl; Graduate as a certified singer and teacher for singing;

During her studies, she debuted at the International Handel Hall (Achilles' Deidamia, Georg Friedrich Händel), and at Gewandhaus Leipzig (the orchestral section for "Auf der Haut der Trommel" by Thomas Heyn). Competition winner of the 8th “Junge Opernsänger der Theater der DDR”, master classes with Hannelore Kuhse, Peter Schreier, Norman Shetler and Kurt Equiluz;

1984-1987 first engagement as lyrical mezzosopran at the Halberstadt folk theater;

1987-2008 ensemble member of the opera Chemnitz; (Debut as Octavian, repeatedly embodied this role in various productions);

Other guest appearances: Staatsoper Dresden, Staatsoperette Dresden, Oper Leipzig, Musikalische Komödie Leipzig, State Theater Hanover, State Theater Mannheim, Heidelberg, Landestheater Linz, Nationaltheater Weimar;

Amongst the, more than 70 roles, which Regine Köbler embodied were: Octavien, Komponist, Dorabella, Cherubino, Ramiro, Orlofsky, Hansel, Muse / Niklas, Maddalena (Rigoletto), Preziosilla, Dritte Dame, Suzuki, Marcellina "The Marriage of Figaro"), Nancy, Frau Reich, Magdalene (Meistersinger), Erda, Flosshilde (Rheingold), 1. Norn, Flosshilde (Götterdämmerung), Siegrune (Walküre), Annina (Rosenkavalier), Witwe Begbick (Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny), Baronin von Grünwiesel (The Young Lord), Magdalena (Der Evangelimann);

She has also performed in Brazil (Salvador / opera festival "Barroco na Bahia"), Italy (Rimini), Israel (New Israeli Opera / Tel Aviv), Las Palmas and the USA (Brooklyn Academy of Music / New York).

Concerts with many well-known oratorios-parts of the alto repertoire, among others, with the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, the Händel-Festspiel-Orchester Halle, the Leipzig Baroque Orchestra, the Chemnitzer Barockorchester, the Munich Bachsolisten;

Collaboration with conductors such as Igor Markevich, Michail Jurowski, John Carewe, Oleg Caetani, Niksa Bareza, Ludwig Güttler, Gothart Stier, and directors such as Sir Peter Ustinov, Carl Riha, Brigitte Fassbaender, Steffen Piontek. Already at the beginning of her solo career private teaching activity and focus on singing pedagogy;

1996-2002 Voice training for  the Chamber Choir of the Pauli-Kreuz-Kirche Chemnitz;

2002-2009 Professor for singing (music theater) at the College of Music "Carl Maria von Weber" in Dresden;

Since 2009 professor for singing at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (Department of Voice and Music Theater).
