Postdoc-Phase

Following the successful completion of doctoral studies, the postdoctoral phase begins: a period of further qualification. During this period, you will strengthen your independent academic profile and explore and prepare for career paths within or outside academia. This is often accompanied by the acquisition of third-party funding projects, teaching activities, publications and further training. Qualifications may also be acquired in areas such as staff leadership, project management, communication skills and networking.

Since 2021, the mdw has been offering a career development programme for academics (Prae and Post Doc) with the aim of supporting women, inter* and non-binary persons in strategically planning their academic careers. At the mdw, workshops and events on topics that can be helpful to post-docs are offered by various bodies.
