The organizational unit Equity, Gender and Diversity (GGD) advocates for gender-sensitive and diversity-aware knowledge building in teaching, program development, administration, and university life. A fundamental understanding of societal power structures and inequalities – as well as their current manifestations within the university and in the arts and cultural sectors – is essential for developing and implementing professional practices across all hierarchical levels that are sustainable and critical of discrimination.

In close cooperation with mdw’s Human Resources Development – Center for Further Education and with internal and external experts, the GGD designs and implements training courses, workshops, and expert sessions on gender and diversity for the Center’s course program.

Furthermore, the GGD develops tailored, practice-oriented training formats and formats for reflection for specific departments and organizational units at mdw. Trainings adapted to the respective target groups and their specific challenges, questions and goals are available on the following topics…

The Diversity of Genders

Gender-Fair Language

Dimensions of Social Inequality

Using the “Tricky Moments” Webtool and its Ideas to Act on (for example creating safer and brave spaces, shaping relationships, allowing space for reflection…)
