Who is eligible to apply?
The mdw Mentoring Programme is addressed to women, inter* and non-binary individuals who are aiming for a career in academia. Applications are open to mdw PhD and Post-Doc researchers, as well as artistic researchers, regardless of whether they are currently employed by the mdw.

An internal mdw jury selected a maximum of nine mentees for the programme from the applications. A focus on diversity is a basic consideration in the selection of mentees.
How can I submit an application?
The mdw Mentoring Programme is open to a maximum of nine PhD and Post-Doc researchers, as well as artistic researchers from the mdw who fulfil the above criteria (see »Who is eligible apply?«).

Applicants have the opportunity to propose renowned researcher as mentors.

Letter of motivation (max. 2 pages), addressing the following questions:
- What researchers goals and visions do I pursue in my career?
- What socio-political realities do I perceive as a researcher?
- In what methodological, theoretical or practical context do I frame my research?
- How can the mentoring programme support me in achieving my goals within the context of an academic/research career?
- Why are intensive reflection and strategic planning of my academic/research career particularly important to me at this point in time?
- Which structural conditions have hindered my progress in my studies and career so far, and which have been supportive?
- Where do I see myself and my reseach and academic work in five years’ time?

The mentoring programme requires your continuous presence and independent, active participation in all parts of the programme. Please consider in advance whether you are able to commit to this. In agreement with the supervisor, the mentoring programme can generally be done during mdw working hours. Mentees sign a declaration in which they commit to participating in all parts of the programme.
