Information for visiting researchers
Welcome to the mdw!
For international visiting researchers, the mdw is an attractive place for scientific exchange and international networking.
If you are interested in joining mdw as a visiting researcher, please adhere to the following steps in the order below:
1. The primary contact are the staff of the hosting department/research center. Use the mdw website to find the department or researcher you would like to visit and contact them to negotiate the stay and all details.
2. If you need help or seek guidance on how to secure funding, our team at the Research Support Office (forschungsfoerderung@mdw.ac.at) as well as our colleagues of the International Office (internationaloffice@mdw.ac.at) are here to help.
3. Only after all details of your stay at mdw have been clarified and confirmed with the hosting department, fill out the relevant documents (use of mdw infrastructure by external researchers etc. as well as the annex on data protection and data security.) These documents are to be sent to the Human Resource Department: Michaela Föger, foeger@mdw.ac.at
Note: The status of visiting researcher is to be distinguished from an employment relationship at the mdw (e.g. as part of a third-party funded project). In this case, the head of the department/the head of the research centre must contact the Research Support Office, the Budget and Controlling, and the Human Resources Department.
