PopVoxCon – The Popular Voice Conference

A meeting point for research, teaching, and the art of the popular voice

PopVoxCon is an international conference focused on popular voice pedagogy, contemporary vocal training, and music education in styles such as jazz, pop, soul, and related genres.

The program brings together voice teachers, singers, researchers, and artists to explore practical approaches to teaching and learning contemporary singing. Topics include vocal technique, body and breath, neuroscience of learning, creative teaching strategies, curriculum development, and inclusive approaches to voice education.

The conference features research presentations, interactive workshops, performances, artist talks, and Open Classroom sessions, offering insight into real-world teaching practices and artistic processes.

PopVoxCon aims to connect research and practice while creating a space for exchange, collaboration, and innovation in contemporary vocal pedagogy.

Louise Traser
Voice scientist and senior physician at the Freiburg Institute for Musicians’ Medicine, specializing in phonation respiration, vocal health, and the physiology of professional singers.
