Loukia Chaidemenaki is a researcher psychologist & art therapist (PhDc, ECPh, MSc, MA Arts & Cultural management, Member of BAAT, EFAT, EAP, GPS). Loukia is both a researcher, supervisor and lecturer in University Education in Greece and practitioner in the fields of Arts in Health, community art therapy, Museum accessibility, psychosocial support with experience in Greece and in Germany.
Loukia is a PhD researcher with the University of Music & Performing Arts Vienna exploring “Social inclusion and community wellbeing through Arts in Cultural Organizations: Accessibility, participation for people with disabilities and mental health issues”. Grounded in cultural studies, arts in health, sociology and disability studies, the study uses mixed method methodology (quantitative, qualitative, art based) to investigate a) barriers and facilitators of accessibility, b) how museums can evolve into inclusive spaces that foster community wellbeing and democratize culture and c) the effects of cultural participation and engagement on these audiences.
