Masterclass Lied - French Repertoire
Masterclass with Susan Manoff and students (Liedduos) for Piano Vocal Accompaniment.
New York-born pianist Susan Manoff is of Latvian and German descent. She studied at the Manhattan School of Music and at the University of Oregon. After intensive studies with Gwendolyn Koldofsky in the song repertoire, she is now one of the most sought-after pianists of her generation. In addition to her interest in the vocal repertoire, Susan Manoff is a passionate chamber music performer and conceives original programs that combine music and text. She performs regularly at major international festivals and concert halls such as the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Théâtre du Châtelet, SalleGaveau, WigmoreHall, Concertgebouw, Carnegie Hall, Wiener Konzerthaus,Musikverein, OjiHall and others. Susan Manoff is a regular guest of FranceMusique and has recorded for several labels with Sandrine Piau,Namanja Radulovic, Patricia Petibon, Véronique Gens andAdèle Charvet, among others. She was assistant chorus director at the Opéra Bastille and is currently a professor at the Conservatoire National de Musique et de Dansede Paris. She teaches master classes worldwide and was named Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture in 2011.

The master class is aimed at singers and pianists. Participation is only possible as a Lied duo.
The repertoire requirement is German Lied. It is recommended to prepare four to six Lieder for the course, depending on the length.

Course content:
Music market - self-management and networking - cover letters and materials from artists - positioning and branding
The demands placed on classical musicians have changed dramatically, and the purely musical skills are now just part of a 360-degree profile. The participants of this workshop will get a solid overview of the requirements of a career or own projects in the context of a solo and professional chamber music career. This includes insights into management processes, marketing skills, a feeling for the market and the necessary Know-How for the realization of own projects and career strategies. The work is interactive and there are plenty of opportunities for discussions and questions.

Meisterkurs Lied Helmut Deutsch
Am 9. und 10. März 2020 findet ein Meisterkurs Lied mit Helmut Deutsch statt.

Helmut Deutsch, einer der gefragtesten und erfolgreichsten Liedbegleiter der Welt, hält an den beiden Tagen einen Meisterkurs an der mdw ab. In Wien geboren, studierte er am Konservatorium, an der Musikakademie und der Universität seiner Heimatstadt, erhielt den Kompositionspreis der Stadt Wien und wurde mit 24 Jahren Professor.

Meisterkurs für Klavier mit Prof.in Ewa Kupiec

Professorin für Klavier an der Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover
Ewa Kupiec' besonderes Augenmerk gilt der zeitgenössischen Musik. 2005 führte sie erstmalig das wiederentdeckte 1. Klavierkonzert von Schnittke mit Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester im Berliner Konzerthaus auf, dem im September 2006 die Einspielung des 2. Klavierkonzerts und des Doppelkonzerts folgten. In den Rezital- und Kammermusikprogrammen finden sich oft zeitgenössische Werke und verschiedene Komponisten haben ihr werke gewidmet.
Sie konzertiert weltweit, gibt Meisterkurse in Europa und wirkt als Jurorin in Wettbewerben wie z.B. ARD (München), Sydney (Australien), Busoni (Italien), Beethoven (Bonn, Deutschland) und Lind (Finnland) mit.
Ewa Kupiec ist in Duszniki-Zdroj (Polen) geboren, studierte in Kattowitz an der Warschauer Chopin-Akademie sowie der Londoner Royal academy of Music und gewann 1992 den ARD-Musikwettbewerb (Kategorie Duo Klavier / Cello).
Seit Herbst 2011 hat sie eine Professur für Klavier an der Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover inne. Im Juli 2018 wurde sie als Mitglied der der Europäischen Akademie der Wissenschaft und Künste gewählt.
Meisterkurs französisches Lied

Das französische Lied, die mélodie française, nimmt im Liedrepertoire einen besonderen Rang ein. Vergleichbar den zwei Seiten einer Münze sind das deutsche und das französische Liedrepertoire, verschieden und doch Teil eines gemeinsamen Ganzen. Prof. David Selig arbeitet in dem Meisterkurs mit SängerInnen und PianistInnen an französischen Liedern.
Geboren in Melbourne (Australien), begann der Pianist David Selig sein Studium am Pariser Konservatorium bei Aldo Ciccolini. Nach weiteren Studien bei Guido Agosti und Geoffrey Parsons wurde er Preisträger der Sydney Piano Competition und beim ersten Wettbewerb für Klavierbegleitung Den Haag. In seiner langjährigen Karriere trat David Selig als Solist in vielen bekannten Konzerthäusern, wie dem Salle Pleyel in Paris, dem Concertgebouw Amsterdam und in der Carnegie Hall New York auf. Seine Leidenschaft für Kammermusik und Lied führte zur Zusammenarbeit mit namhaften KünstlerInnen. David Selig gibt regelmäßig Meisterkurse für Kammermusik und Liedbegleitung und ist Professor am Conservatoire National Supérieur in Lyon.
