Finale Programme for the Bachelorstudies
Piano Performance
For the examination, a representative programme must be selected that includes works from the major periods and stylistic areas relevant to the instrument. The examination programme must include works that are both musically and technically demanding. The examination programme will be selected by the examination committee and announced one week prior to the examination.
The programme must have a maximum duration of 40 minutes and include the following works:
a) two Etudes, one by Chopin
b) one work from the Baroque period (if sonatas by Scarlatti, Soler, or comparable composers are selected as the Baroque work, at least two sonatas must be prepared)
c) two works from the Classical period (including Schubert), one of which must be by Beethoven
d) a representative romantic work
(may incl. Rachmaninov, Skrjabin up and including Op. 52, Szymanowski
up and including Op. 21)
e) two works from the 20th or 21st century, one work composed before 1950 and
one after 1950
All works have to be played by heart, except the work composed after 1950.
The programme should be indicated as follows:
- Composer (dates)
- Title / Work
- Key
- Opus number
- Duration of the respective piece
Piano Vocal Accompaniment
Programme with at least 40 minutes duration:
a) A representative and sophisticated programme with works for
Piano solo from different epochs of at least 15 minutes.
All works for Piano solo have to be played by heart.
b) A representative and sophisticated programme with "Lieder" from
at least three epochs from at least 25 minutes.
A representative part should be the "deutsche Kunstlied".
At least one "freitonales Lied" from the 20th/21st century and
at least one "Lied" in another language than German from the european
culture.
The songs have to be performed as a Liedduo.
The programme should be indicated as follows:
- Composer (dates)
- Title (complete title)
- Key
- Opus number
- Duration of the respective piece
Programme for Liedduo should be indicated as follows:
- Composer (dates)
- complete title or cicle title
- Cicle title
- "Lied"title (Poet) Opus number
- Performers
- Duration of the respective piece
