Iris ter Schiphorst is a university professor for media composition at the Department of Composition, Electroacoustics and Tonmeister Education at the mdw - University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.

The interview was commissioned by the Administrative Department for Equality Gender Studies and Diversity of the mdw as a contribution to the exhibition "MusicaFemina. Aus dem Schatten ans Licht" (3. Juli bis 2. September 2018, Orangerie Schloss Schönbrunn).
