The programme concludes with a final master’s examination before a committee, which consists of two parts:

  1. In the first part of the examination, the final project is presented. This may take the form of a lecture performance with a maximum duration of 25 minutes. The lecture performance includes the presentation of the artistic final project, establishes a critically reflective connection to the written part of the master’s thesis, and incorporates artistic components

  2. In the second part of the examination (defensio), a discussion with the examination committee takes place, lasting a maximum of 15 minutes. This discussion relates to the content of both parts of the master’s thesis as well as to the preceding presentation.

Prerequisite for admission to the final master’s examination: successful completion of all areas of study and a positive evaluation of the master’s thesis.

The master’s programme Contemporary Arts Practice concludes with the academic degree Master of Arts.
