About the Department of Chinese Music

One of the most prestigious educational institutions aiming for preserving and promoting traditional arts, the Department of Chinese Music at the Chinese Culture University was established in 1969 next to the beautiful National Park in the suburbs of Taipei. The Department has four major divisions: Chinese music performance; music theatre; music theatre and composition; musicology.

We are aiming to study and create a multi-layered contemporary music entity by applying traditional Chinese music and absorbing elements from cultures from around the world. Our goal is to cultivate musicians for the next generation equipped with diversified skills, refined humanity and global awareness.
