For the fourth time, the international chamber music exchange Young Talents on Tour brought together young musicians from Lübeck, Luxembourg, and Vienna, joined by guests from Bremen, Hamburg, and Rostock. This year, they gathered at the University of Music Lübeck to prepare some of the most beautiful works for quintet and sextet ensembles – all within just four days – and bring them to concert level.

Representing the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, violinists Laura Kostner, Lena Krzanowska, and Felix Aigner, clarinetist Samuel Neubauer, and horn player Felix Aigner took part. The group was accompanied by Anaïs Tamisier, chamber music lecturer and violinist.

The varied program featured major works of the chamber music repertoire, including compositions by Antonín Dvořák, Florence Price, and Louise Farrenc, all passionately and expressively brought to life by the newly formed ensembles. The results of this musical collaboration were presented in three concerts: in the Great Hall of the MHL, at a school concert at the Ernst-Barlach-Gymnasium in Kiel, and in the foyer of the Kiel Opera House.

Among the standout moments of this exchange were the intensive rehearsals with the international team of instructors, an excursion to the sea, evenings spent together at the youth hostel, and the experience of moderating a school concert for the first time – a particularly memorable highlight.

We’re already looking forward to the next Chamber Music Days in 2026, which will take place in beautiful Luxembourg!
