Voluntary Evaluation
Teachers may have their course(s) evaluated voluntarily at any time, independently of the official evaluation cycle, e.g. if the regular cycle feels too long or if they are new at the mdw and would like to receive feedback on their teaching right away. In addition, the option of voluntary evaluation can also be used to increase the response rate of the regular evaluation by conducting a voluntary evaluation in the following semester and combining the results of both evaluations (provided it is the same or a similar course with different students).
How does the voluntary evaluation work and how can you register for it?
The voluntary evaluation is carried out in the same way as the regular evaluation (see FAQs: How does the evaluation process work?). The only difference is that the feedback is for teachers personally, and the results are not included in overall reports.
If you are interested, please contact the Quality Management Unit in due time (by the end of November in the winter semester or by the end of April in the summer semester) with the following information (lvevaluation@mdw.ac.at):
- Which course should be evaluated? (Please note that at least 4 responses are required in order to receive an evaluation report.)
- Which type of questionnaire do you consider suitable? (see samples of questionnaire types)
- Should the evaluation start at the regular date (early January in the winter semester or early June in the summer semester, with the survey running into the first week of holidays) or is the course held in blocks and therefore finishing earlier or later?
