Event "Career Paths in Science and Art at the mdw - with a Focus on the European Context"
25th of October 2025, 15:30-17:00, spiel|mach|t|raum
In October 2025, the mdw initiated a new annual event series as part of the HRS4R. The event kicked off with a focus on "career paths in science and art." At the heart of the discussion were career paths and profiles, as well as influential factors and support measures. Giuliana Sabbatini, an expert in the field, provided impetus on the European context, speaking on developments in the European Research and Higher Education Area and the current issues facing career advancement at universities.
The conversation focused, among other things, on the following questions:
- What are the opportunities and challenges in career and personnel structure planning at the mdw and beyond?
- What (institutional) conditions are required to make the transparent structuring of career levels and pathways for artists and scientists possible?
- Do non-linear career paths receive sufficient recognition, and what new skills are in demand?
Panel members:
Host: Gerda Müller, Vice-Rector for Organizational Development and Diversity
