The 6th Hong Kong International Piano Competition
The 6th Hong Kong International Piano Competition and the Hong Kong Joy of Music Festival will take place from 10 to 27 October at Schloss Esterházy in Eisenstadt and will be presented by the Chopin Society of Hong Kong with the kind support of mdw.
Numerous master classes, presentations, chamber music performances and recitals by the renowned jury members complement the festival and competition programme with free admission.
The 6th Hong Kong International Piano Competition: Semifinal & Final
The competition consists of:
- 15 solo piano recitals with programmes chosen by the 15 semi-finalists.
- Six chamber music concerts with the Logos Chamber Group with individually selected programmes by the six finalists, including an obligatory piano and guitar duet with Alvaro Pierri (guitar).
- Three piano concerts with the competition orchestra with the winners of places 1-3

Masterclasses & Presentations
- Piano masterclasses with Tigran Alikhanov, Peter Donohoe, Avedis Kouyoumdjian, Cyprien Katsaris, Eliso Virsaladze, Pascal Roge, Jean-Bernard Pommier and Robert Benz
- Guitar master classes with Alvaro Pierri
- Presentations on state-of-the-art live streaming technology with Volker Werner
The Joy of Music Festival
- With performances by Alvaro Pierri & the LOGOS Chamber Group, Pascal Roge & the LOGOS Chamber Group, Avedis Kouyoumdjian & the Artis Quartet.
- Piano recitals by the first prize winners of the competition: Giuseppe Andaloro (2011), Luka Okros (2016), Honggi Kim (2019) and the winner of 2022
- Solo concerts by Tigran Alikhanov & Mikhail Voskresensky
- Final concert on 27 October with Eliso Virsaladze, Cyprien Katsaris & Richard Bamping (cello) in Hong Kong, together with the Haydn Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Marin Alsop in Austria.
Live-Streaming to Hongkong
All events will be streamed in real time from the Esterházy Palace to the concert hall of the Hong Kong City Hall. The audience in Hong Kong can thus be present at all performances via livestream despite the distance of 8 700 kilometres.
