Art & Science Hub (Call 2023)
The Art & Science Hub took place in collaboration with the University of Applied Arts Vienna and provided an opportunity for transdisciplinary teams—comprising an artist, an early-career researcher in a STEM discipline, and pupils from a Viennese middle school—to explore a scientific question through artistic means.
Designed as a multi-day workshop and led by Ruth Anderwald and Leonhard Grond, early-career researchers and artists worked in tandems—each with a group of 5–6 students—on a STEM question to develop artistic formats for science communication.
OUTPUTS – Project Titles
- How can we help and protect the smallest living beings in our environment?
- What is the state of nature around our school, and how can we find out?
- What does water sound like?
- What can be used to fill a space?
The Art & Science Hub workshop took place as part of the “Interdisciplinary, Hands-On, and Inclusive STEM Education” project in the framework of the Knowledge Transfer Center East (WTZ Ost).
