Erleben Sie am 11. Juni ein kammermusikalisches Konzert simultan in Wien und Triest:
Je zwei Musiker der Ensembles sitzen in Wien und Triest und werden gemeinsam Werke von György Kurtág, A. Vrebalov und John Zorn gleichzeitig an zwei Standorten aufführen.

Die KünstlerInnen spielen also teilweise live vor Ort und live per Audio/Video-Übertragung.

The mdw and the Conservatorio Giuseppe Tartini in Trieste, in synergy with the research and education network in Italy (GARR), in Austria (ACONET) and the pan-european backbone (GÉANT), present a first important collaboration in the domain of remote musical production and performance using the innovative ultra low-latency A/V streaming system LOLA.

Artists

Giocoso Quartet and Contemporaneo 4tet will prepare and perform a real time distance musical performance. Both string quartets will have two violins located in Vienna and two lower voices (viola and cello) located in Trieste and together they will perform a contemporary repertoire.

The performance will be followed by a presentation in which professors and researchers of both institutions will explain and discuss many aspects and future applications of the LOLA system, in particular taking in consideration the current development of networked real-time activities worldwide in different fields such as education or musical and theatrical production.

The event will also be the occasion to celebrate the opening of Tartini's Concert Hall (Sala Tartini), which was recently equipped with a complex A/V technological setup funded by the Italian Ministry of Education.
