The prize winners of the 3rd Mauricio Kagel Composition Competition have been determined:
- 1st prize: Matius Shan-Boone (Indonesia)

- 3rd prize: Daniel Serrano Garcia (Spain, mdw student)
"Sonetos"
- Honorary mention: Davide Coppola (Italy)

- Honorary mention: Emre Sihan Kaleli (Turkey)
"Six Short Pieces for Emergin Pianist"
About the 1st prize winner
As one of active Indonesian young composer, Matius Shan-Boone (born in 1985) already performed his works and got commission in many festivals such as Manila Composer Lab, Yogyakarta Contemporary Music Festival or Indonesian Composer Week 2012.
Some of his achievements have been made possible by the support of the Goethe Institute Malaysia: Finalist at the Gaudeamus Composition Competition 2010, prize winner at the South East Asian Young Composer Competition 2011 and at the National Salihara Composer Competition 2011.
Recently he finished his Master study under DAAD Scholarship with Dieter Mackat the Music Academy Lübeck (Germany).
