Welcome to the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna!

The mdw currently provides training to over 3,000 students from over 70 nations, making it one of the leading universities in all fields of study concerning music and the performing arts. 

The mdw has an excellent student-instructor ratio of 4.7 students per instructor in group- and individually taught subject areas. 

At the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, students are selected solely on the basis of their talent and qualifications. This means that we have no quotas for international students, meaning that it is an entirely open competition for our places.
