Mobility
The mdw recognises mobility as an important factor and supports climate-friendly models.
Mobility at the mdw includes business trips, mobility programmes and commuting to work or between locations, as well as the small fleet of vehicles owned by the university.
The mdw has set itself the goal of reducing emissions from the mobility activities of all university members by at least 25% by 2030.
Thanks to various measures and changes in mobility behaviour, emissions caused by mdw mobility have been reduced by 16% since 2018.
However, these emissions now account for 61% of the mdw's total emissions, at around 1580 t CO2e. (As of: Key figures 2024)
Therefore, the choice of transport and the promotion of active mobility are the most important levers on the path to climate neutrality.
