Chroma`s Work with Families: Curiosity, Compassion and Hope

Daniel Thomas& Rachel Swanick Chroma and University of South Wales, UK

Chroma is the UK’s leading creative arts therapies organisation, working with families in a wide range of settings such as homes, schools and hospitals. Alongside regular therapeutic work, Chroma also specialise in assessment and training for therapists. This holistic view to therapy enables Chroma to create certainty around quality and therapy management. This approach is grounded in the adage that if “it takes a village to raise a child” then it takes an organisation to provide excellence in therapy.

In this workshop, the need for compassion, curiosity and hope in family work will be highlighted through discussion, case studies and pre-recorded examples. Just as the child needs the experiences of the village around them, the workshop will show how a multidisciplinary method of assessment and intervention can help the family resilience and a positive sense of attachment for the future.
