Section 99 Para. 1-2 University Act

Professorships under Section 99 Para. 1 to 2 University Act may be considered for appointments of up to five years. In these procedures, instead of an Appointments Commission, either an Advisory Board is set up or a hearing of the University Professors of the relevant department is scheduled. This decision is made by the Rector. A further distinctive feature of this process is that evaluators are appointed. A member of the Working Group on Equal Opportunities (AKG) must always be invited to the meetings of the Advisory Board or to the hearing.

In the course of the hearing or at the final meeting of the Advisory Board, the university professors from the department draw up a reasoned and ranked list of candidates. The selection from this list is then made by the Rector, who is not bound to the Advisory Board's ranking.

Further information on the composition of the Advisory Board and the course of the procedure can be found here.
