Department of Organizational Development and Social Responsibility

Against the backdrop of a general transformation of the working world and current social, economic, and educational policy challenges, universities are called upon more than ever to be adaptable and solution-oriented. In addition to their core tasks in teaching and research, they are called upon to promote and ensure social participation, equality, and inclusion as part of their "Third Mission".

The Vice-Rectorate for Organizational Development and Diversity addresses these complex requirements in a future-oriented manner with its own department for Organizational Development and Social Responsibility.

The cross-cutting theme of sustainability is firmly anchored within the department, with its own university-wide coordination office. The department also oversees the thematic areas of flight and migration, as well as art and health.

The department's expertise includes the analysis of internal university structures, interfaces, and processes with the aim of improving them in a targeted manner. The department supports structural change processes as well as the development and implementation of university strategies and measures. The participation and cooperation of those involved are prerequisites for successful organizational development.

A further focus is on providing individual support for units, teams, and management in aligning or developing departments.

The department comprises two units:

> Equality, Gender and Diversity

> Organizational development

as well as the

> Sustainability Coordination Office

The department works closely with human resources management and development and quality management of the mdw.
