‘Kurtág meets Medgyaszay’ is a concert in the Music meets Architecture series in cooperation with the Collegium Hungaricum Vienna and focuses on the dialogue between composer György Kurtág and architect István Medgyaszay. Kurtág's musical condensation and reduction is juxtaposed with Medgyaszay's architectural thinking, which combines modernity, organic form language and tradition, allowing music to be experienced as part of a larger cultural-historical field of tension. The evening is conceived as a curated encounter between two positions of modernism and honours Kurtág's extraordinary artistic work on the occasion of his 100th birthday.
