Chirhiro Gordon trained as a concert pianist at the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna under Jürg von Vintschger. In addition, her work with KS Walter Berry had a particularly formative influence on her, inspiring her to continue working with singers. Her interest and passion subsequently led her to study song and oratorio with Carolyn Hague, opera coaching with Kristin Okerlund at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna, and vocal accompaniment with Julius Drake at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. She completed all her studies with distinction.
Chihiro is an internationally active pianist and accompanist. Her concert activities as a chamber musician have taken her to the Musikverein in Vienna, the Wiener Konzerthaus, La Sala Petit Palau (Barcelona), the Liedhalle in Stuttgart and the Ludwigsburg Festival. She works with singers such as Wolfgang Holzmair, Ks.in Birgid Steinberger, Werner Güra, Nina Tarandek, Elena Copons, Jörg Schneider, Katharina Bradic and Mathias Hausmann, and has been involved as a study director and pianist in various opera and operetta productions and festivals.
As a sought-after répétiteur, she accompanies masterclasses at the International Summer Academy of the Mozarteum University Salzburg, Allegro Vivo, the European Music Institute Vienna (formerly Vienna Masterclasses) and the classes of Thomas Quasthoff, Simon Keenlyside, Bernanda Fink, Angelika Kirchschlager, Helmut Deutsch, Julius Drake, Norman Shetler, Kriztina Laki, Elena Pankratova and Cherly Studer.
